Dear Dr. Petrovic,
I apologize for taking so long to e-mail how I am doing. It has been six
months since I completed the programme. I am doing great. I feel
wonderful and have quite a bit of energy. I will get six hours of sleep on
some nights and do not have any CFIDS symptoms. I am usually tired the next
day when I only get six hours of sleep but I am able to make it through the
day without a nap. This is quite a new concept for me. My daughter is no
longer taking naps so I have had to stop myself, it is so encouraging to me
that I feel fine without rest during the day. Some days I will take about a
half hour nap for a little extra energy but could do fine without it. I have
not been achy at all. I was worried how I would feel once I was off the
programme and am pleased that I can say "I am doing great." I have a new phone number (623)544-8685. We are living in Arizona now. If
you need to give my name and number out to anyone that might have questions I
would be more than happy to talk to them.
I hope all is well with you. If you have any questions please let me
know.
Blessings, Brooke
UP TO DATE : BROOKE BALAS' S GREAT HEALTH AND ENERGY LEVEL CONTINUE 9 YEARS AFTER SHE COMPLETELY RECOVERED FROM HER INCAPACITATING CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME ON DR PETROVIC'S CFIDS PROTOCOL! (2009 Report)
Dear Dr. Petrovic,
It has been quite a few years since I have contacted you and stumbled upon your website again tonight and felt as though I should give you an update on how I am doing.
I can say, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I am completely cured from CFIDS. If you recall I had CFIDS for 14 years, much of my childhood/teen years included in those years. Although I had learned how to live with CFIDS I was not functioning as a normal young adult should.I was sleeping usually 12 hours at night and taking a 2 hour nap every day. I was very skeptical to try something new to help my CFID and went into the program with a very negative attitude. I was sure I would live with this the rest of my life.
Within 2 weeks I noticed a difference in how I felt, I can still remember going to bed one night and feeling utter joy because for the first time in 14
years I was completely exhausted, not sick tired but the kind of tired you feel as a kid after swimming all day, my eyes were tired again not just my body. I knew I would be sleeping soundly that night. For 14 years I had woke up every 2 hours and could set the clock by it.
Finally I was able to sleep and wake up feeling like I had gotten some rest. It took awhile to completely change my sleep pattern but each night got better and now I very rarely wake up during the night (unless, of course a little voice calls in the night saying she has had a bad dream). I finished your protocol in February of 2000 and have not had even a bit of a relapse.
Now I typically get between 6 and 7 hours of sleep each night and can function throughout the day. I have 2 kids that keep me quite busy and I am very involved at their school and am so thankful I am able to be an active stay at home mom with them.
I can´t thank you enough for the change you have made in my life and the life of my family. You truly have been a blessing to us!!
I have received some calls over the years asking how I am feeling and would like you to know that you are still welcome to use me as a reference if you need to. My number is 623-544-8685 and my email address is brookecmc@cox.net.
I will contact you again soon with some other health questions, not related to CFIDS, and see if you can give me any insight or advice on the matter. I must close now though because I need to get up in about 6 hours to start a new dayJ.
Thank you again.
Brooke Balas
