January, 96.
Hi! My name is Sarah. I am 24 years old. I was diagnosed with M.E. 7 years ago. Some doctors told me their was no treatment or any cure - just bed rest and try to take it easy. Many doctors told me that there is no such thing as M.E.
Before I started the treatment:
I felt very tired and had NO energy. It was a hassle to do anything and I got tired very quickly, I found it very hard to relax, got worked-up very easily and was VERY emotional.
I was constantly getting infected ears and throat and felt run down all the time and was on antibiotics after antibiotics. I was very pale and had dark rings under my eyes.
I enjoyed doing circuit (Gym) which I was doing twice per week, but I did not have the energy to do it anymore, so I stopped.
I found it very difficult to sit and read and concentrate.
I felt that the people around me could no longer cope with me being so emotional, out of control of my feelings and no one could understand how I felt - very frustrating!
That's when I started the Treatment:
I started taking the treatment a few days before I went overseas (London) I really battled with the medication to start and got diarrhoea and felt quite sick to start.
After 6 days of treatment I went window shopping and sight-seeing in London. I did not enjoy it at all. I felt terrible. I had NO energy, no interest in what I was seeing and I was battling to lift my legs.
Got fed up and tired and grumpy very quickly, and started getting frustrated with myself.
After taking the treatment for 10 days I was able to do 4 hours of walking around shops without getting tired, grumpy or frustrated. The next day I was able to do a 1 hour/45 minute walk through fields and up Downs. Was able to do another 2 walks over an hour long.
After taking the treatment for 20 days I was able to walk around London for 6 hours with NO hassle sight seeing and really enjoyed every minute!
My hair has started to grow, my nails are much stronger and don't flake anymore. My eyes have sparkle in them and I have got colour in my face and a lot more energy and ambition and interest to do things.
I hope to start Gym soon. I don't wake up feeding totally exhausted and not knowing how I will cope with the day anymore.
I feel happy, more confident and in-control of my feelings. I am able to cope with a days work without getting worked-up!
Other people have said I have sparkle in my eyes, I'm not so pale, I'm more relaxed and have a lot more energy, and I am a lot happier.
This programme has been the best for me. I think it has done me a lot of good.
